James (Jim) Torres

James Torres, a U.S. Army Veteran and seasoned Financial Services Professional with more than 30 years of industry experience, is the owner of Towers Federal Educators LLC. Through his organization, he is dedicated to educating and serving federal employees and their extended families nationally and those serving abroad. His mission is centered on helping members of the federal community achieve their retirement and financial goals while building meaningful, long-term relationships founded on trust and service.
James brings a uniquely diverse background in the financial industry. His experience spans International Finance, Stock Brokerage, Forex Brokerage, Mortgage Lending and Brokerage, Insurance, Financial Planning, Estate Planning, and multiple other financial disciplines. This broad expertise provides him and his team with valuable insight into a wide range of innovative strategies and solutions designed to educate, guide, and empower those they serve.
Through his experience and strategic approach, James helps clients identify efficient ways to reduce costs, improve asset efficiency, and build comprehensive financial plans designed to protect their families and secure their futures. His areas of focus include tax-deferred and tax-free retirement strategies, tax planning, Social Security planning, estate planning, long-term care planning, debt reduction strategies, mortgage protection, and more. He utilizes a variety of financial vehicles, including insurance solutions and real estate-related strategies, to help clients work toward their financial objectives.
As a Federal Employee Retirement and Legacy Coach, James is committed to building lasting relationships while helping individuals and families pursue their financial goals and long-term objectives. He believes every person deserves the same level of care, attention, and dedication, whether they are a new client or a long-standing relationship. By combining his personal leadership and service philosophy with the extensive resources of Towers Federal Educators, he delivers a strong foundation of education, guidance, and strategic planning. Towers Federal Educators serves as a Network Representative of the My Fed University group, authorized to educate and support federal employees across the globe, while providing leadership in financial protection strategies and wealth management solutions.
James and his wife, Maria, reside in Southeast Florida and are proud parents of five children and grandparents to seven grandchildren. Beyond his professional commitments, James is passionate about serving his community. He actively participates in programs dedicated to feeding the underserved, supporting veterans, and volunteering through his church’s Benevolence Ministry, where he provides pro bono financial education and guidance. He also serves in both local and international mission efforts, continuing his lifelong commitment to service and leadership.
James’ extensive years of experience working in international finance, as a stockbroker, forex broker, mortgage lender & broker, insurance agent, financial planner, and more, allow him insight into many creative strategies to find the most efficient ways to teach and guide those he serves to reach their financial goals, thus protecting their families and employees.
Social Security planning, estate planning, long-term care, debt reduction, mortgage protection, and more utilizing an array of financial vehicles to create unique strategies that allow him to optimize retirement planning at a high level.
As a financial professional, his goal is to build lasting, quality relationships while assisting with their financial goals and objectives. He dedicates attention to his new customers, just as if they were his current customers, ensuring that everyone is taken care of equally.
James combines his personal service and leadership skills along with his vast network of partners to provide a cornerstone of service and strategy. Towers Federal Educators is a Network Representative of the My Fed University, which is currently a national leader in federal benefits education, financial protection strategies and wealth management
Prior to establishing his own financial services firm, James held various upper-level corporate positions with Interbay Funding, Greenpoint Mortgage, Federal Life, Forex Inc., and represented industry-leading firms such as Broker’s International, Top Rank Advisors, and Lloyds of London, and has an MBA degree in Business Administration and Finance.
James and his wife, Maria, reside in Southeast Florida and have 5 children, 7 grandchildren; alongside his family, James strives to be a highly active community leader serving in various community programs to feed the poor, Veteran services, volunteers at his church in the Benevolence Ministry, where he offers Pro-Bono Financial Education & Guidance, and serves with local and international missions.
